Super Bowl Recap + A Special Guest Who Was Actually There
Girlfriends + Football Season Finale
The final episode of the season is always a little emotional. After months of game recaps, debates, predictions, and plenty of laughs, we wrapped up the 2025 NFL season by doing what we do best… talking football, sharing opinions, and welcoming an incredible guest who experienced the Super Bowl in person.
And honestly? It was the perfect way to close things out.
The Super Bowl: A Game That… Happened
Let’s start with the obvious. The Super Bowl was… something.
Like many fans, we rallied ourselves before kickoff. It was the last NFL game for months. That alone deserved excitement. But once the game got going, it quickly became clear this wasn’t shaping up to be an all-time classic.
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29–13, and the tone of the game was set early. Defense dominated, scoring was slow to build, and for a while it looked like we might be watching a shutout.
Some standout moments and stats:
Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl MVP after a dominant performance on the ground.
The Seahawks defense controlled the game from start to finish.
Seattle kicker Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record with five field goals.
The Patriots offensive line, featuring rookies at left tackle and left guard, had a tough day against that defense.
While the game itself may not have been the most thrilling, there were still plenty of memorable moments, from legends like Joe Montana flipping the coin to Fred Warner showing up on commentary.
And let’s be honest… sometimes the best part of the Super Bowl is the experience of watching it with friends, family, and good food. That part never disappoints.
Welcoming a Very Special Guest: Therese
To make the night even more special, we welcomed someone who didn’t just watch the Super Bowl, she lived it.
Joining us was Therese, the 2025 Buffalo Bills Fan of the Year, who had just returned home from the game, the parties, and a full week of Super Bowl events.
Sleep-deprived, slightly hoarse, and full of stories, she gave us a behind-the-scenes look at everything from game-day moments to celebrity encounters.
Her verdict on the game from inside the stadium?
“It was a boring game… but being at a Super Bowl is incredible no matter what.”
She even witnessed one of the more unexpected highlights, a fan running onto the field (not quite a streaker… but close enough), which briefly became the most exciting moment in the stadium.
What It’s Like to Be “Fan of the Year”
Therese’s journey to becoming Bills Fan of the Year is as meaningful as it is surprising.
She didn’t apply — she was nominated. Multiple nominations were reviewed by the Buffalo Bills organization, and she was completely caught off guard when they revealed the honor in person.
And how did they surprise an event planner who prides herself on never being surprised?
They staged a fake birthday party.
When she arrived, Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas presented her with the jersey, hat, and official recognition. Naturally, there were tears.
The Water Buffalo Club: Football With a Purpose
Therese is also the founder of the Water Buffalo Club 716, known for its iconic Flintstones-inspired hats worn by Bills fans.
But these hats are more than fun game-day gear.
They’re made in partnership with Stitch Buffalo, a nonprofit that empowers refugee women through employment and creative work. Many of the women crafting the hats arrived in the U.S. after fleeing violence or persecution. The project provides income, community, and opportunity.
Thousands of hats have now been shipped worldwide.
For Therese, fandom and impact go hand in hand.
Bills Mafia, Tailgates, and Football Culture
Therese also gave us a glimpse into what makes Buffalo fandom so unique.
From neighborhood tailgating to lifelong community connections, Bills Mafia is more than a fan base, it’s a culture rooted in loyalty, generosity, and shared identity.
She’s been tailgating in the same location for nearly 40 years and is already planning celebrations for the new stadium era, including parades, themed events, and community gatherings.
And yes… we asked about table-jumping.
Her answer? She doesn’t support it, too many injuries, but she respects the tradition and the energy behind it.
Celebrity Encounters and Super Bowl Week
Super Bowl week is more than just the game, and Therese had stories to prove it.
Some highlights:
Meeting Bills players and NFL personalities
Attending NFL Honors
Getting inducted-style video content with Pat McAfee
And yes… meeting Flava Flav
Her takeaway? The energy surrounding the Super Bowl is nonstop, parties, events, and fans from everywhere.
A Season Ends, But Football Never Really Stops
As we closed out the episode, we talked offseason hopes, award winners, and what comes next for our teams.
And like every year, we all agreed on one thing:
A short break is nice… but we’ll be counting the days until football is back.
See You Next Season
This episode was the perfect way to close the season, reflecting on the Super Bowl, celebrating fandom, and highlighting how football connects people in ways far beyond the game itself.
Huge thank you to Therese for joining us, sharing her story, and reminding us what makes football culture so powerful.
