Week One Madness: Our Wins, Losses & Hot Takes

Week one of the NFL season did not disappoint and neither did the girlfriends! We kicked off Episode 2 with a lot of energy, a life-sized Josh Allen cameo (Beth’s husband is totally fine with it), and plenty of hot takes to unpack a wild first week of football.

Week One Highlights

We broke down the drama from Thursday night right through Monday. There were jaw-dropping wins, shocking losses, and games that kept us on the edge of our seats. We had thoughts — and we weren’t shy about sharing them. From the Bills to the Lions, from heartbreakers to nail-biters, we celebrated, we vented, and we laughed (sometimes at each other).

Beth’s take? Josh Allen’s still QB1 in her heart, even if week one wasn’t perfect. Dezi came ready with stats and sass, and Laura had some choice words about teams that should’ve shown up but didn’t.

The Hot Takes

We dished on which teams are looking surprisingly strong and which ones already have us concerned. Some of our bold predictions might ruffle feathers, but hey, that’s why you tune in. Spoiler: there was at least one “burn it all down” moment when talking about a certain team’s offense.

The Girlfriends’ Picks

We shared our favorite plays of the week, the most meme-worthy moments, and the quarterbacks we’d trust to babysit our pets (yes, that’s a metric now).

Week one is just the beginning, and if this first round of games taught us anything, it’s that we’re in for a season full of surprises. Whether your team came out swinging or limped through week one, we’ve got you covered with the laughs, the eye rolls, and the group therapy sessions you didn’t know you needed.

Catch the next episode live every Wednesday at 8PM ET and hang out with us as we break down all the drama, the wins, and the losses and maybe share a few more questionable crushes along the way.
